Scotland’s National Museum of Costume in Dumfries has just opened an exhibition of Wedding Gowns. All the Wedding Dresses on display have featured in film or TV. Highlights include the gown worn by Keira Knightley in The Duchess, and that worn in the role of Wallis Simpson by Joely Richardson.
There are also dresses worn by Meryl Streep, Helena Bonham-Carter and Nastassja Kinski.
The exhibition also includes Wedding Favours, gloves, Wedding Invtitations and accessories, and shows how tastes and styles have changed over the ages.
Anyone turning up to visit the display wearing their Wedding Dress will be given free admittance.
The exhibition runs until 31st October 2010.
