Hazel Jones, 28, rushed to her aunt’s home in Towyn, Conwy, after reports of a fire, and ended up reversing into a fire engine.

She exchanged details with the fire service, not realising she would later exchange vows with one of the crew at the scene, Graham Beach.

The couple’s wedding was on the 7th of May, and their first meeting was recounted in the best man’s speech.

Her aunt commented, “He’s a nice lad and she couldn’t have done better – they really are a perfect match…they would have never met if it hadn’t been for the fire.”

Wedding Dress Exhibition

Scotland’s National Museum of Costume in Dumfries has just opened an exhibition of Wedding Gowns. All the Wedding Dresses on display have featured in film or TV. Highlights include the gown worn by Keira Knightley in The Duchess, and that worn in the role of Wallis Simpson by Joely Richardson.

There are also dresses worn by Meryl Streep, Helena Bonham-Carter and Nastassja Kinski.

The exhibition also includes Wedding Favours, gloves, Wedding Invtitations and accessories, and shows how tastes and styles have changed over the ages.

Anyone turning up to visit the display wearing their Wedding Dress will be given free admittance.

The exhibition runs until 31st October 2010.

Tiger looking to renew Wedding Vows

It is reported that golfing superstar Tiger Woods wants to renew his Wedding Vows with former Swedish model Elin Nordegren. The news comes ahead of his return to competitive golf.

Although Tiger seems to want to put his marriage problems behind him, it seems the same cannot be said of Elin. She is apparently angry at his decision to return to the game, which means he is spending 19 hours a day practicing instead of having quality time with his family.

Sources have said that she is going to continue filing for divorce, and will do her utmost to ensure that it is quick and seamless.

Making your own Wedding Invitations

One thing that is an essential part of a wedding, no matter how large or small, are the Wedding Invitations: no invitations, no guests!

It’s difficult to know where to start when it’s time to choose your invitations, especially if you’ve decided you want to make your own instead of buying a readymade design from the high street or online.

There are a myriad of craft stores selling card blanks, embellishments and accessories, but unless you really know what your invitation is going to look like, it’s not easy to find exactly the right products for the job. You can spend a lot of time and money experimenting with designs and styles, and maybe still not get what you really want!

Don’t forget that your Wedding Invitations are the first glimpse your guests will have of the style of your Big Day, so you want them to be perfect – make the most of the internet to get inspiration and ideas, but don’t just copy other designs as this is really unethical! Don’t you want your design to be unique to you?

It’s very important to go for the best quality cards you can afford: make sure you set your budget at a realistic level, and then shop around for the best deals. Ask for samples before ordering – any reputable retailer will be happy to provide these for a small fee or even free of charge in the hope you will love their products and come back and order. And remember, pictures on the Internet can be deceptive: this works both ways, don’t forget, and products can be better than the image suggests as well as worse!

Once you’ve chosen your design and bought all your components spend some time carefully laying our your wording and making sure the font and style is perfect. There are many sites that provide sample wordings for many different situations, such as when the Bride’s parents are divorced, or one is deceased, or where both sets of parents are hosting the wedding. Finding your Wedding Theme

Many couples like to have a theme running through their entire wedding day, from their Save the Date cards to their Evening Reception. Some of the most popular over the years have been butterflies, a particular flower, jewels, ribbons & bows, seasons, and of course, a particular colour.

Colour is probably the simplest way to bring continuity to your wedding. That is, of course, assuming you choose one that is easy to match! It can be used very effectively either by choosing contrasting colours, eg ivory/burgundy, silver/black, chocolate/pink, or by going with shades of the same colour. Cards can now be purchased in a myriad of different shades, and ribbons can be incorporated into Wedding Invitations, favours and table decorations.

Butterflies are still a very popular wedding theme: you can have butterfly images on your wedding invitations, wedding favours and other stationery items; feather butterflies can be used in bouquets, floral arrangements and hair pieces; you can even have a real butterfly release on your special day!

Roses will always be associated with love and weddings. There are an abundance of wedding stationery designs incorporating all types and colours, and nowadays it is possible (for a price) to have any variety available for bouquets and centrepieces at any time of year, so it’s a pretty safe choice.

Using the Season in which you are marrying on which to base your theme can be very effective. Embrace Winter with icy blues, silver and sparkling whites. Launch into Spring with bright pastels in lemon, green and orange. Sizzle with Summer colours like hot pink, orange and jewel tones. Wrap up in Autumnal shades of brown, russett and gold.

Whatever you decide on in the end, just remember that the day is about more than just a theme: it’s about the start of your lives together. Your theme can add an extra touch of magic, but make sure it doesn’t overwhelm what’s really important: YOU

Matt Lucas to be Best Man

It has been revealed that comedian Matt Lucas, star of Little Brittain, is to be Best Man at the Wedding of his friend of 20 years David Walliams. David will marry model Lara Stone in May.

He commented: “David’s my soulmate. He’s my brother. It’s weird when you’re in a double act. He’s never, ever let me down, and I hope I’ve never him.”

When asked if he was currently in a relationship himself, Lucas said that had not been since the death of his estranged husband, Kevin McGee, who committed suicide last October in his flat in Edinburgh.

The couple married in 2006, but split in 2008 because of McGee’s drug use and were going through a divorce at the time of his death.

Wedding Video returned after 24 years!

A wedding video has finally been returned to its rightful owners 24 years after their Big Day.

Margaret Bonnar, 62, was given the wrong film at a Boots store in 1986 after taking a cine film there to be developed. Despite attempts at the time, she was unable to trace the happy couple.

However the film was recently uploaded onto the internet, and consequently the couple came forward explaining the marriage had taken place in East Lothian, Scotland. Unfortunately, they also had to admit that they had since separated and divorced.
